The following is all the information I've currently put together for the RPG.
Name: Star of Destiny: Heart of Chaos
Genre: Role Playing Game (RPG)
Battle System: In Debate (Was to be an ATB system, but recently I learned that SquareEnix actually PATENTED this method. Debating use of CTB system)
Console: Computer (only if opportunity arises to port to a console will it appear on one)
Programming: Flash w/ ActionScript 3, converted into an AIR app.
Item System: The equipment system will be minimal at best. There will be no equippable weapons or armor, instead just accessories. Use items will still be available.
Level System: Primarily, levels are obtained by performing key events; either event battles, boss battles, or just reaching a milestone in the game. There will be a traditional levelling system, but it will be designed to require great effort to "grind" levels with very little reward.
Magic System: Characters will have access to an array of elemental spells. Most of these spells will be usable by all characters. Some will not be obtainable on select characters. Any spells belonging to only one character will be listed as an "Ability." In addition, the game will utilize a double energy system for using spells and abilities. These are classified as "Soul" and "Spirit." All "naturally born" characters will have access to Soul energy. The Zatei are the only exception to this. Limited characters will have access to Spirit energy.
The way the magic system works is this: When a player uses a spell, they will use either Soul or Spirit energy. If the character has access to both, they can choose providing the situation lets them choose. Soul energy spells require the element being used to exist on the battlefield. Spirit energy spells do not. Constant use of a particular element through Spirit energy will allow the spell to be used through Soul energy regardless. Energy of both forms will regenerate over the battle. However, in order to begin regenerating, the character must not use that energy for two turns.
There are further break downs of spells, which will be saved for another journal entry.
Abilities System: Each character has their own set of Abilities (Though some will share an ability from either using similar weapons, being of similar race, or from being like-minded individuals). In addition, certain abilities can be coupled with abilities from other characters to perform dual attacks. Typically this is from the abilities being similar or from the characters sharing a bond of sorts.
Further information on abilities will be saved for when the full magic system journal post is made.
Story
This game's story will be considered a flashback of the male protagonist of Star of Destiny, Skye McCloud. However, it will not just consist of his own memories. This instead gives it the idea that while Skye is remembering, the player is seeing everything first hand.
The story will cover the following events in the Star of Destiny story:
- The creation of Mav Alpha in his original time
- How Mav came to end up in the past
- Meeting with the Zatei
- Meeting with Star
- Meeting with Guardian Excalibur
- Meeting with Veon Aeolis & Merenwen Cyral
- Meeting with Dr. Hans Kain, creator of the sarenoids
- The first trip to the following cities & realms: Kronos, Fortrin, Odiz, Bamatos, Abrana, Nandoleh
- The relationship between Mav and a particular Zatei.
- The creation of Leon Maximus
In order to make the story less linear, the game will be designed into two routes. The player will be able to choose which way they go at points, making some effects upon the story. Keep in mind, even if taking one way at first, the player will end up going both ways. The difference is the order of the events, which in turn changes some of the story.
These two routes will be titled either "Order" or "Chaos." The meaning behind these names is a secret. It will also be noted that while the players can choose which way they go, there is considered a specific path of events. There will be ways to tell within the game whether you are taking that path or not.

Looking for spriters/pixel artists for background and character building.
Whether you can do backgrounds, monsters, scenery, effects, or actual characters, it does not matter. I could use all the help I could get, since I suck at full blown spriting. This is on a volunteer basis.
